Just like the rest of the United States, the legal drinking age in Arizona is 21, however, not all states take underage drinking laws as seriously as this state. Both the police and the court system treats underage drinking as punishable crimes.
According to state data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Arizona witnessed 2,912 deaths from drunk driving between 2003 and 2012. During those years, Arizona ranked slightly higher than the national average for deaths from drunk driving across all age groups.
The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) reports that about 20 people suffer violence at the hands of a domestic partner every minute in the United States. Unfortunately, domestic violence continues to be a problem in the U.S., costing more than $8 billion per year and representing about 15% of all violent crime in America.
